Scripts, Pics & Lucious Scraps, Stitched, Glued & Artfully Placed...

Thursday night Lisa McIlvain debuted with her Elements of Collage Workshop here at Cottage Panache! I wasn't able to get a close up of her sweet little  boxes that she decorated for each of her students but here is a couple of pics of the table pre-arrival of the girls!

Pictures went on hold as one by one our guests arrived, the first at 6:00 and the rest followed immediately  (I know they were anxious as all get out!!!)
In the little decorated boxes from Lisa were some of the elements that she gathered and the tiny shoes that Dawn of http://the-feathered-nest.blogspot.com/ constructed. So precious ~ some of pale pink satin and others from soft textured fabric resembling burlap! Lisa mentioned that Dawn is going to be offering an online tutorial for the tiny shoes!  Her tutorial are only $5.00 ~ what a deal!

The studio has a mere six seats at the table and all in attendancde were listening eagerly for Lisa's delivery of her Ellements of Collage.

Time flew by so quickly as everyone chose their elements from the vast array that Lisa provided them. Gorgeous lace, scripts and pics from vintage books, bits and baubles and other vintage treasures.  All were intent on placing their elements perfectly in place.

Then glued and stitched into place!

Jan's finished collage had a bird theme.

Erica's collage theme was centered around the sweet cabinet photo of a blonde curly locked little girl!

I wish I had gotten a better picture of Lori's ~ check out her own post featuring her collage on http://katiesrosecottage.blogspot.com/

Susan chose a pink theme and it was just beautiful also!
I can hardly wait for Lisa's next workshop~her soldering bottles.
They are over the top and were featured in the article that she wrote for Somerset Studio
Magazine.

I talked to Lisa today and she and I thought a Sunday  time for aClass for her bottles.
I will be posting the details on the workshop blog very soon.
I will post some pictures of the studio/classroom tomorrow and days to come while I add a few more finishing touches!
Thanks for stopping by
and have a great blessed weekend!
Hugs

If you know Linda like I know Linda...

Oh, oh, oh what a (talented) gal...Linda Kinnaird is ~ On September 11th at 2:00pm to 4:00pm, after Lisa's collage workshop Linda will be tutoring her knowledge of metal stamping in her Introduction of Metal stamping. Everyone will take home with them a very stylish pair of silver earrings with tiny little fleur-de-lis (my favorite frenchy motif)! If only I were not going to be stuck at the register I would be there making my pair! Shucks ~ maybe Linda will give me a private lesson someday! These earrings will go with everything and what a perfect gift they would be also.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
There are 4 spaces left in her metal stamping workshop ~
I know that everyone will love these earrings!
Next time you're in be sure to check out all of Linda's jewelry designs at Cottage Panache.

These are two creations by Linda Kinnaird Jewelry! Linda works full time and still finds time to designs and create on a regular basis, not to mention her continued education of jewelry design. Recently investing her time and money in yet another art ~firing her own glass beads!
Soon I will post some pictures of the studio ~ where myself, instuctors like Linda and Lisa, and our students will join together to create til our hearts content! Join us won't you ~ many new classes to come!
Thanks for visiting!

I can't believe it's been weeks since I have posted. I have been busy running the shoppe and preparing the studio for the coming up workshops. Checking in Christmas inventory ~ yes, that's right, Christmas! I will hold off as long as I can to put out the trees, but I do love it! So many wonderful, beautiful pieces. I will give some sneak peaks here and there just to entice you ~ I confess!
Next week I will start posting some pics of the studio. I love the way it has come together.

I can't believe that the Summer is nearing an end ~ soon the kiddos will return to school! Yes, you will miss them and you may tear up on that first day ~ don't forget those cameras for the kinders,  but then as you say your goodbye for the day and start to walk away, you realize... Mama finally gets some Me~Time!  So while the kiddies are away Mama will get to play... stop at that Antique shop or Boutique that you would dream of visiting but had always put off because the wee ones were in tow...on the way to the pool, the park or Micky D's! Now you can have lunch with the grown-ups and  your HD~
no need to feel guilty that the wee ones are not there ~
you deserve your free time, your me time, for all you do!
Get together with your friends and sign up for your favorite workshop soon! Many more
workshops to come! Stay tuned and follow to keep informed!
Now that I have finally figured out how to place the shopping cart button I will begin posting some items for purchase online.
